Taken by Charlotte Abel

Taken (Channie, #2)

Synopsis:

Bound by love and magic. Betrayed by those they trust. Not everyone survives.

Gasp-out-loud action, heart-pounding romance and an OMG ending that leaves you hungry for the next book.

My Review

What a ride! Taken is the second book in the Channie series and I absolutely cannot wait for the third!

The title: Perfect – although I didn’t understand it until the very last chapter.

The heroine, Channie:  Young, honest, considerate and real.  She doesn’t always make the best decision, but all her decisions are pure of heart.  Channie is one of those fictional characters that I’d like to hang out with for a day.

The hero, Josh:  He is level-headed, strong, and deeply in love with Channie.  I like that at least one of them has a normal family for support because they are put into the absolute worst situations.

Hunter: Wow, an incredibly strong character that provides great humor throughout the entire book.  I enjoyed every scene he was in and the Las Vegas job search had me laughing out loud at 2 a.m!

Money: (Channie’s Dad) I didn’t like his character very well in the first book but I grew to love this character and the sacrifice he was willing to make for his daughter.
There were other exceptional characters as well, but these are the four that two weeks after I read the book, are still crystal clear.

This book had amazing action, a well thought out plot and meticulous attention to detail.  I wish I could give it more stars.  The ending was unexpected, someone died (No spoilers) and the murderer was a complete shock – I still get angry just thinking about that scene!  Bottom line – I loved, loved, LOVED this book!  It is exceptionally written and two weeks later it’s still very much on my mind.  HIGHLY recommend to all YA, Paranormal Romance, Urban Fantasy fans!
